Anne, Bob and Karin - Trip to Costa Rica                      -                          February 16-28, 2010

Tuesday, February 16 - Karin and Bob flew from Landvetter airport 7:40. After many line-ups, passport controls and security checks at Landvetter, Frankfurt and Houston They landed at San José and along with 2 other future course members they had an exciting 2 hour taxi drive to arrive shortly after midnight at Villas las Flores where Lars-Eric Uneståhl and SLH have a education center.

Wednesday, February 17 - This was a course-free day and Karin, Bob and two Ulrikas went to the nearby town Paritta for a little sight-seeing and shoping. The weather is relatively warm and because of the cost of electricity, the air conditioning is not to be set any lower than 23 degrees. Our chaufer to Paritta was Kjell, a clarinet player, who is staying here for 4 months to write a book on mental training for musicians and the teaching of music.

Thursday, February 18 - Today we started ICC: s certifieringsutbildning till ”International Coach”. Karin and Bob began with a short run along the long, long, long beach with gray sand. TheN after showers and breakfast we went to class. The hours 9-13 and 16-19:30 were divided up by a 3-hour siesta period when we had lunch, used the swimming pool, went to Paritta oR surfed the internet.

Friday, February 19 - Today Bob and Ulrika M went for a run at 6:45, before breakfast and course. Karin was busy finishing off Thursday's circle assignment so she didn't make it out running. Bob spent a bit of "siesta" looking at some trees while most of the course participants went to the beach to begin their goal-setting assignment.

Saturday, February 20 - Today Bob and Ulrika M went for their run at 5:55 (yes in the morning) since Lars-Eric had moved the course start a litlle earlier. In the middle of the afternoon Bob fick SMS from Anne that she had a problem with her flights and instead of arriving at San José at 21:40 she would land at 00:10. After changing the taxi booking, Bob prepared for Anne's arrival to las Flores at about 02:00. Then he waited ...and waited ... Anne arrived finally at 03:30, delayed by a traffic accident on the new motorway. Sunday, February 21 - Today Bob acquired an old drawing of part of the local area.. and guess what .... a new mapping project is under way. Also today Anne got a taste of beach running and swimming in the Pacific.

Monday, February 22 - Today was a short course day (We stopped at 11 in the morning, and having been given the Uneståhl's minibus, 7 (a Lars-Eric magic number) of us headed off for some exciting cable-car rides in the foothills of the mountains. There turned out to be 6 different cable rides that we all found very exciting. After the rides and a bit of watermelon we walked to a small mountain waterfall, where everyone except chicken Bob went for a swim. Bob was content to take pictures. (Altogether he took over 280 pictures, only a few of which are here.) Here's a link to movie from one of the cable's that Jairo took on Ulrika M's camera. Tuesday, February 23 - This morning we were 4 who ran together at 6 am. Anne, Bob, and 2 Ulrikas. The afternoon section of the course was briefly interrupted by a class exodus to watch 5-6 monkeys climbing aroiund in the trees outside of our classroom.

Wednesday, February 24 - This morning we were 5 who ran together at 6 am. Anne, Karin, Bob, and 2 Ulrikas.

Thursday, February 25 - This morning Bob didn't run as there were some things he wanted to finish on the map, which you can now see here below.

During the day's siesta period there was an international soccer match between Costa Rica and Sweden. Unfortunately we lost to Costa Rica 1-2, but everyone went back to work happy. Today is officially the second last day of the course, but already tomorrow morning Andreas will leave for home.

Friday, February 26 - This was the last day of the coaching course and included exams and celebration. Having finished her exam by lunch, Pia took a cab for the airport.

Saturday, February 27 - During the night Ulrika M left for the airport and then we others had A WHOLE FREE DAY. Anne, Bob, Anders and Ulrika borrowed Uneståhls' car and drove to Manuel Antonio National Park.

Sunday, February 28 - Uneståhls and UlrikaE left during the night and when Anne, Bob and Kjell got in the taxi for the airport, Frank was left on his own.
