Wednesday, March 23 - We made this a "rest" day. We just went downtown and wandered around through some of the stores and through the Shintu grounds again. While in the later we apparently saw a famous actress a number of times. Everyone turned and watched her and moved closer as she was filmed and interviewed a number of times. They even took a lot of film while she stood on a bridge and watched the fish. |

Thursday, March 24 - This was mostly bowling day and Japanese McDonalds day.

Friday, March 25 - In the morning Anne and I went to look at a Zen Buddhist monastary. Some pictures are here to the right.
In the afternoon we went to what used to be a fortress, Yamanakajo Ato, some hundreds of years ago. Since the actual buildings were of wood they are all gone. The area, however, was quite large with a number of interesting features. The drawing below shows the layout. Most of the pictures in the slide show below are of the right part of the drawing. |
