Friday, June 8 In the afternoon we drove about 400 km in a bit over 6 hours, the first hours on a 12-14 lane highway with very slow traffic. The last part was much, much faster with large transport trucks travelling over 120 km/hr.
So far my impression of California terrain has altered tremendously. Where we stayed the first two days, except for the beach, it was very hilly, sometimes very steep hills even for cars. After Los Angeles there were very many rather high "hills" with very little vegetation and some very flat "desert" like country also with little vegetation. There did, however, grow a large number of power windmills. I figure at least 2 000 !! |
